Individuals on the autism spectrum and those with behavioral challenges often present with difficulty regulating their feelings and interacting socially. This workshop first describes how best to think about challenging behavior to achieve better outcomes. Then strategies to handle meltdowns in the moment are detailed. Seven common triggers to overwhelming anxiety and frustration are identified along with ways to prevent these difficult moments. Information will be imparted though lecture, interactive exercises, and video clips.
